R1 Crimson is easily recognizable due to its discreet frame. It’s most often used by undercover bodyguards and security forces partial to lighter gear, such as Nikatawa operatives. Its popularity snowballed after Michael Bones had used it to thwart an assassination attempt on Ray Mincom, the former president of the Alliance of Common Planets. The assassin, later identified as a disgruntled former employee of Multimine, never made it to the hospital due to extensive burns on most of his body.
