Kepler-62

Flarea

Kepler-62f is the fifth planet orbiting within the habitable zone of the Kepler-62 star about 1200 light-years from the Sun in the constellation of Lyra. Its life span is estimated to over 6 billion years.

History

Its discovery was announced in 2013, 16 years later it was considered habitable and in 2072 it was colonized.

The construction of the first city, FLA-01, by AAIA commissioned by Gravable Labs was unexpectedly difficult and dragged on for many years beyond the planned schedule. Nevertheless, the first company settlers began to appear as early as 2074. Interplanetary Inverse Inc. followed the initiative and flooded the planet’s surface with their research bases two years later. The next big company that entered the electrogravity technology (EG) race was MegaElectroniX. They wanted to be the first manufacturer of EGT industrial tools.

Planet received also heavy traffic from minor companies in the mid 80’s of XXI century. Nikatawa and smaller OTA departments. The crowd in the planet did not deter MultiMine from setting up its galvaon mining bases, traces of which had been found below the planet’s surface.

The Bullets clan known as Space Fennecs led by Yohoto Ley also got interested in the Flareas capabilities. They established more than 10 bases on its surface, 2 of which focused on the production of weapons and military equipment.

Planet grounds

Flarea is a rocky planet of a silicate-iron composite with a frugal amount of water. Two colors dominate the rocky surface of the planet – red and brown.

It has a very solid atmosphere that’s 6 times thicker than Earth’s and it’s filled with carbon dioxide.

Most of the area is several kilometers high mountains rich in long networks of caves. All cities and bases had to weave into the demanding terrain – often building in caves, vertically along mountain slopes and connecting rockeries with long bridges. Unfortunately, it was not possible to use a modular universal colonization kit in the construction industry on Flarea. Lots of new blueprints for Base Printers had to be prepared. Fortunately, the planet was full of materials suitable for building these printers.

Vegetation on the surface of the planet is very rare. Here and there you can find oases surrounded by forests of dense bushes and trees. These forests are up to several dozen kilometers in diameter, but are separated by hundreds of kilometers of barren sand rocks. These forests also easily grow on the steep slopes of the mountains.

The planet discovers its natural beauty inside the caves, where the walls are covered with unusual flora. The basis is a moss-like matys, known mainly from Trekt’s surface. It builds up in some places to form matys balls. It produces exotic flowers of various colors and shapes. The whole is complemented by glowing plants that look like yellow pearls that are glued together.

Local Alliances

Due to the large number of Bases and their various functions, they are dependent on each other. One focuses on food production, the other is typically mining, and the other is entertainment and residential. For this reason, it was necessary to build a road and rail network enabling land communication between bases. Traditional passenger vehicles, trucks and trains complemented the fast but very expensive medium-range teleportation.

Gravable Labs

First colonists on the planet. Focused on researching electrogravity effects.

Interplanetary Inverse Inc.

This is III’s main research planet, as they built here over 45 research complexes. They are in a constant cold war with Gravable Labs trying to conquer more grounds to be studied.

MegaElectroniX

MEX wanted to be the first interplanetary manufacturer of industrial tools that uses electrogravity.

Bullets

The Bullets clan known as Space Badgers led by Yohoto Ley also got interested in the planet. They established more than 10 bases on its surface, 2 of which focused on the production of weapons and military equipment.
