Earth’s colonization of other planets was made possible thanks in large part to the financial and technological support of a charismatic and eccentric Turkish trillionareKara Atay, an entrepreneur focused on exploiting alternative energy sources. He was one of the main funders of Dimitri Sedvan’s research, and provided materials needed to build first interplanetary teleporters. He lobbied strongly to start colonization as soon as it was possible, going as far as offering himself to start the first extraterrestrial colony. Thanks to his influence over different governments, he arrived on TOI-700 d on May 16th 2071 as a member of the first colonization party in Earth history.

After establishing the habitat, new colonizers were called in from Earth and as they arrived, they learned that TOI-700 d had changed its name to Alpha One, and the trillionareKara Atay was now Ulubaba-Alpha, king of the Alpha Kingdom. Despite a strong diplomatic backlash from the Earth’s governments, more and more people flooded into the new colony and Ulubaba-Alpha enjoyed full support from the new citizens.

It is unclear how Alpha Kingdom came to be. Some say that Kara Atay’s charismatic personality was enough to convince other colonizers to form a new country, some say he had used some sort of massive mind control device or mind-altering drugs made from plants found on the planet. Still, in the following years the colony grew larger and more prosperous, thanks in large part to the planet being rich in titanium, gold, silicon and magnesium and Ulubaba-Alpha’s position grew stronger thanks to his multiple marriages and heirs to the throne being born.

Soon Ulubaba-Alpha began the Kingdom’s expansion – first he sent ships to Alpha One’s moons, then to Alpha Two, the next habitable planet in the TOI-700 system. The Kingdom used spaceships instead of teleportation as a way to distance itself from other Earth colonies.

After the Collapse Alpha Kingdom continued to thrive. Not relying on teleportation technology ensured constant communication between the two planets. In the 30 years of voidshift another planet, Alpha Three, was colonized, and more cities were built on both Alpha One and Alpha Two.

Ulubaba-Alpha resides with his wives in an enormous residence just outside Alpha City, the Kingdom’s capital. Despite the passage of time and nearing his 100 birthday, he still looks the same as the day he had arrived on Alpha One, and seems to feel young too – this is thanks to various medical procedures and bio-modifications. Many of the citizens believe he has become immortal, while people of other colonies speculate that he is actually a robot or an alien.

Life in Alpha Kingdom is generally happy – all the citizens are provided with housing, power, clean drinking water, education and work, the crime rate is very low and there’s no people living in poverty. A lot of focus at the early years of Alpha One was put on culture and entertainment – there are more theaters, cinemas, concert halls and community centers in the Kingdom compared to other colonies. Automation is used on a large scale and while it hasn’t made manual labor obsolete yet, it seems to be going in this direction. Tourism is also booming, especially on Alpha Three, with its beautiful landscapes and luxurious resorts. Because of the quality of life in Alpha Kingdom, citizens are very protective of their king and will strongly defend his policies in discussions with foreigners.

Alpha Kingdom uses a unified calendar between all the planets and has its own internal electronic currency. The Kingdom’s diplomatic relations with other colonies are based on trade of minerals – mostly silicon, gold and titanium – and technology. The relations with the other big multiplanetary government, the ACP, are somewhat cold and there’s not much trading done between the two, but there has never been any open conflict between them.

Alpha Kingdom is big on technology. Some of the biggest technological companies established their offices in the country and the king personally oversees the government’s own research and development projects, the most important being the interplanetary defense system, used to protect Alpha One, Alpha Two and Alpha Three from meteor showers, and the antimatter accelerator network built on Alpha One’s moon Eva-Anna. The Kingdom is also known for establishing orbital stations around the TOI-700 d planet and for exploring inhabitable planets for natural resources. An elite reconnaissance team of highly trained and well equipped soldiers, known as the Xeno Patrol, was specifically formed by the king to scout new worlds.
