TOI-700 b, Alpha Three, or A3, is a habitable planet orbiting a red dwarf in the TOI-700 system in the Dorado constellation, 101 light years from Earth, controlled by Alpha Kingdom. It is most famous for its coral reefs, beautiful beaches, old forests, vast deserts and enormous canyons and it most resembles Earth from all the colonized planets. There are no typical cities on A3, but small villages that formed around luxurious resorts. To protect the planet’s natural environment laws are in place to regulate construction of new buildings and settlements.
While the population of the planet is relatively small because of the environmental policies (only around 12 000 people live on Alpha Three permanently), a huge number of tourists visit for shorter periods of time. Staying at the resorts is not particularly cheap, but part of the profits goes to wildlife conservation efforts on other Alpha Kingdom’s planets.
The planet’s unique character doesn’t allow any major corporations to build offices. Different resorts rarely communicate with each other. Alpha Kingdom’s police keep the peace in villages, while the only other significant faction is the Xeno Patrol that keeps a small contingent on the planet and explores it further. Most of A3 still remains uncharted.
Alpha Three was first visited by the Xeno Patrol in 2106. In 2108 the first resort, controlled directly by the royal family, was opened. Soon a village grew around it to accommodate the resort’s employees and their families.
Business was slow until the end of the Voidshift. In 2132 A3 was officially opened for tourists outside of Alpha Kingdom and quickly became a popular vacation spot for people throughout the colonies. In the years that followed more resorts opened, but soon king Abia-Aba Alpha introduced laws to prevent the destruction of the planet’s natural environment to prevent further exploitation of A3.
Antracita consists mainly of desert areas and oceans. There is dense vegetation along the oceans, often swampy areas or jungles. However, quickly, about 200 km from the shoreline, the vegetation is thinning to give way to rocky and desert terrain.
Vegetable areas are very rich in wildlife that directly threatens human colonies. For this reason, human bases are most often built in deserts more than 100 kilometers from the shoreline.
Antracita consists of over 76% water. The water is acid, but you can drink it. Ocean animals have never been thoroughly examined. It is only known that they take enormous sizes reaching over 40 meters.
Along the oceans, there is a dense jungle and dangerous swamps filled with unidentified animals. People don’t go there. The brave men who have ventured more than a few kilometers deep into the jungle have never returned.
The central part of the continent is covered by desert. It is mainly an open desert area, here and there with rocky mountains and stones. After forced construction interruptions and destroyed cities, there are wrecks of construction vehicles and machines, sand-covered ruins or unfinished city buildings.
Antracita is characterized by high mountains with extensive cave networks and numerous canyons. Caves and canyons are usually enclosed, with labyrinths of corridors and smaller rooms. In some places the unit may encounter traps.
Due to the large number of Bases and their various functions, they are dependent on each other. One focuses on food production, the other is typically mining, and the other is entertainment and residential. For this reason, it was necessary to build a road and rail network enabling land communication between bases. Traditional passenger vehicles, trucks and trains complemented the fast but very expensive medium-range teleportation.
